As a result of losing the UK broadcasting rights for the Bundesliga to Sky Sports, BT Sports now intend to cover more Ligue 1 games than in previous seasons, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.

The channel now has a three-year deal to broadcast Ligue 1 to UK and Irish audiences starting from this season, as agreed with BeIN Sports.

BT have been the rights holder for French football’s top flight since 2013, and have announced that they will show more than 200 matches this season.
