A man in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh was reportedly forced to carry his wife’s body for as many as 45 kilometres after hospital authorities failed to provide a hearse for the deceased.

The woman died during her treatment at the Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) hospital in the city but a saga of turmoil unfolded for the family soon after. They have alleged that they repeatedly requested and pleaded with the authorities but the hospital refused to arrange a hearse.

The hospital authorities, however, say that they have no record of the concerned woman’s death at the the Swaroop Rani Nehru hospital.
