WWE announced several names for this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal yesterday. In addition to names like The Hardy Boyz, EC3, and Ali being in this year’s match, it was previously confirmed that Braun Strowman and Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” hosts, Colin Jost and Michael Che, will be competing in the battle royal during WrestleMania 35 this year. According to Cageside Seats, the match likely won’t be on the Kickoff show this year due to the involvement of the SNL stars. However, the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal will still likely be on the pre-show this year. They also say that WWE likely is not finished announcing names for the battle royal, so expect more stars to be involved in the 6th iteration of the match.
The relaunched XFL is finally coming together at last. News on the teams and the staff is being revealed regularly now, and some new team presidents have just been announced as well. Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that Erik A. Moses will be working as the president of the XFL’s team in Washington DC. The news comes right after it was reported that Ryan Gustafson will be the captain of the Seattle team, and Heather Brooks Karatz is the president of the team over in Los Angeles. Vince McMahon is sticking with his plan to bring back the XFL in early 2020. With the resurrection of the XFL just a few more months away from taking place, expect more big announcements regarding the league to be made soon.

Some fans were a bit surprised to see that NXT Superstar Keith Lee won’t be wrestling at NXT Takeover: New York next week. Lee has been out of action with an injury, but details on it were scarce at first. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update stating that Lee’s injury is very minor, but he is being kept on the shelf during WrestleMania weekend as a safety precaution. Lee has been impressive since coming to WWE, and his match against Dominik Dijakovic a few weeks ago, which ended indecisively, has left fans begging to see a rematch with a definitive winner. Hopefully, Lee will be able to come back stronger than ever so that he can begin building up some momentum on WWE’s developmental brand.
