Gopher Wrestling today announced its high school team days and youth clinic schedule for the 2015-16 Big Ten season.
Minnesota kicks off its conference schedule at home against Indiana on Friday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and will hold its first high school day of the season at that dual. The Gophers will put their 13-match winning streak against IU on the line as the Hoosiers return to Minneapolis after not appearing on last year’s schedule. The second high school day will be on Sunday, January 24 when the other Big Ten team from the 19th state, Purdue, comes to the Pavilion. Minnesota has won the last seven in its series with the Boilermakers.

The Jan. 24 Purdue match, which begins at 1 p.m., also will be one of the two dates where the Gophers will host youth clinics prior to the afternoon dual. The other is a week earlier – Sunday, January 17 – when Minnesota hosts Rutgers at 1 p.m. It will be the first-ever dual for the Scarlet Knights in the state of Minnesota and just the second all-time meeting between the two teams after last year’s inaugural dual during Rutgers’ first Big Ten season.
On both youth clinic days, there will be two pre-dual youth clinics, meaning the program will host four total youth clinics this season. These clinics will be held immediately preceding the 1 p.m. duals on both dates.
Receiving free admission for your high school team on either of Minnesota’s two high school days is easy. If your high school team would like to attend the Indiana dual on Dec. 11, submit your roster to Julie at [email protected] by this Friday, Dec. 4. Please use the subject line “High School Night #1” for your email. Tickets for the event will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
More information on registering for the second high school day, as well as youth clinics, will be shared closer to those dates. Be sure to check on GopherSports.com for more information, and follow GopherWrestling on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more regular updates.
