All things considered, It was a relatively quiet news day in the world of pro wrestling and MMA. In the update below, get details on why the McMahons’ fate post-Wrestlemania may already be decided, some NXT plans already being made for Wrestlemania in Orlando, and plenty more. 

For this coming weekend, we’ll be doing polls on the New Japan Cup show late tomorrow night as well as Roadblock on Saturday night. Bryan Rose will be handling live post duties on the site for those shows.

THURSDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE & NXT

–Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon & HHH are all advertised for the 4/11 Raw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles — one week after WrestleMania. I guess that means they don’t all get fired on the day after or the people doing the advertising are being told the wrong info. 
 
–WWE had been promoting in Orlando that the Citrus Bowl would become the first stadium to hold two WrestleManias. However, I think they forgot the Sky Dome/Rogers Centre in Toronto. (thanks to Chris)
 
— Good news for NXT fans: to no surprise, there will officially be an NXT Takeover event on the Friday before WrestleMania 2017 at Orlando’s Amway Center. 
 
— The stock declined 37 cents per share today to $17.48.
 
— Alexa Bliss talked with Pittsburgh media about the recent Arnold Classic in Columbus, OH.
 
— Kane talks Shane McMahon returning and the Wrestlemania match with Undertaker.
 
— Here’s an interview with the still suspended Titus O’Neil. He addressed the suspension and said he’s owning it and that while friends told him he should quit and do something else, he’s never quit on anything in his entire life.
 
— Bray Wyatt talks about wrestling in Philadelphia.
 
— 2K and GameStop announced the development of WWE SuperToken, a limited edition collectible token series game offering in-game content for 2K’s WWESupercard.  Available beginning 3/21, exclusively at GameStop retail locations, you can get tokens of John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Paige and other top stars.
 

UFC

–Derrick Lewis will be replacing the injured Ruslan Magomedov in a UFC fight against Gabriel Gonzaga on 4/10 in Zagreb, Croatia. This was a little surprising considering he had made a fight with Roy Nelson in the last week while both were at UFC 196.
 
–The UFC prelims this past Saturday night did 254,000 viewers on TSN in Canada, which is a big number for that country.
 
–UFC got some negative pub in Australia as there was a brawl involving as many as 50 people outside the Ritz Hotel in Hurtsville, (South Sydney) on Sunday night which was blamed on the UFC.  Police said there was a disagreement between groups of fans watching UFC 196.  Two 17-year-old boys were injured, one of whom was hospitalized with a broken orbital bone.  A 15-year-old girl was arrested for using offensive language and others are also facing charges.
 
–Ronda Rousey has signed an exclusive deal with Fanatics, Inc. the market leader for official licensed sports merchandise.
 

OTHER WRESTLING & MMA NEWS

— Court proceedings continued in the Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Media case which you stream live daily on our site. There’s a lot of mainstream media attention made about former editor AJ Daulerio’s bizarre comments about the age limit in which he’d publish news or video about people having sex. 
 
–As we mentioned on last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Ken Anderson is not only no longer in TNA, but he cut a promo where he said a nasty word about TNA at an ICW house show over the weekend.
 
–An Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly no holds barred match has been added to the sold out 4/1 ROH Supercard of Honor show in Dallas, TX.

–Ernie Ladd, a former AFL star who was one of the biggest pro wrestling stars of the 70s, passed away nine years ago today. If you’re feeling nostalgic, here’s the Big Cat vs. Andre the Giant:

 
–There has been very little pub actually regarding the recent death of Lord James Blears, but this is the surfing industry’s story on his death, something we discussed earlier this week on WOR.

–Including DVR viewership as of Monday night, Friday’s Bellator show did 838,000 viewers and peaked at 1.1 million during the Joe Warren vs. Darrion Caldwell main event.
 
–World Series of Fighting has a show this Saturday at 10 PM EST on NBC Sports Network from Greeley, CO, with lightweight champion Justin Gaethje vs Brian Foster plus Josh Copeland vs. Michael Hayes (not the impending WWE HOF’er), Cory Devela vs. Louis Taylor, and Josh Cavan vs. Kris Hocum.

–Christopher Daniels talks about his role in ROH and the promotion’s Saturday show in Philly.
 
–Ben Askren defends his ONE welterweight title against Nikolay Aleksakhin on 4/15 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, The Philippines.
 
–NWA Smoky Mountain Wrestling runs on 3/24 in Kingsport, TN at the Civic Auditorium.
 
–The Empire Wrestling Federation at Fluxx Night Club will be putting on a show on 5/5 in San Diego as a Cinco de May party.  It will be a combination wrestling show and party hosted by Mil Mascaras.
 
–Jake Roberts talks his last departure from WCW:
 
–The Grappler (Len Denton) will do a talk show on his career tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Cozmic Whirled Pies at 199 W. 8th Avenue in Eugene.  You must be 21 to attend.
 
–Former NXT wrestlers Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louis have been training at the Team Vision Dojo in Orlando.
 
–Santana Garrett wrestles TNA’s Raquel on Saturday night in Orlando at the Dojo with the Wonder of Stardom championships at stake.  They also wrestle on 6/4 at the John and Rita Shakespeare Theater in Orlando.
 
–Smash Wrestling tonight in London, ONT at Fanshawe College with Johnny Gargano defending the Smash title against Joey Ryan, plus Rhino, Tyson Dux and Pepper Parks.
 
–Maryland Championship Wrestling on 3/19 in Frederick, MD at the Indoor Sports Center has Billy Gunn and Tommy Dreamer appearing.  Dreamer & Drolix & Chuck Lennox headline against King McBride & Joe Keys & Rob Locke, and Gunn wrestles Ken Dixon.
