Bellator 138 and UFC Fight Night 69 Betting Picks from the Secret Psyhic Spy

By the Secret Psychic Spy ([email protected])

Starting Bankroll: $1,500

Current Bankroll: $756.15

Last week: 2/5 Overall 56/100 (56%)

Even with only picking 2 out of 5 correct last week, I still made a healthy profit by going with the huge underdog Fabricio Werdum. The new Heavyweight champion came it and 4 to 1 for your Spy. This weekend has two big events, Bellator 138 and UFC Fight Night 69 and as usual I’ve searched up and down both cards and found five fights which with I think there’s value in betting. First up from tonight’s Bellator event, we’ve got the main event:

Pick 1 – Ken Shamrock (28-15-2) +260 over Kimbo Slice (4-2) I’m betting $100 to win $260

Both guys are well past their prime. This is a freakshow fight, no doubt. Neither man belongs in a fight, let alone in the main event on national television. All of this is well established. Shamrock’s base is wrestling and a wrestler’s skills age better than a puncher’s and I’m not even sure how much Slice ever had but whatever it was, I’m quite certain it’s gone. I’m predicting Shamrock to end his career on a high note and shock the world with an upset in tonight’s main event.

Pick 2 – Makwan Amirkhani (11-2) -235 over Masio Fullen (10-4) I’m betting $100 to win $42.55

“Mr Finland” made quite the debut with an 8 second knockout and this is the followup. I’m more confident in this pick than any other as I think we’ve got a potential superstar on our hands here. If he wins, as I expect him to, I think this is the last we’ll be seeing of this charismatic potential superstar in prelims for quite a while.

Pick 3 – Tatsuya Kawajiri (33-8-2) +150 over Dennis Siver (22-10) I’m betting $100 to win $150

If I’m right and Kawajiri pulls off the upset, a lot of the hometown fans will be leaving the arena in a foul mood, as Siver will be the biggest star on the card to the fans in attendance. He took a beating at the hands of Conor McGregor just a few months ago and I think he’s coming back too soon. Kawajiri is coming off a decision loss to Clay Guida, which followed a dominant 6 fight winning streak. He’s also never lost consecutive fights in his 15 year pro career.

Pick 4 – Mairbek Taisumov (23-5) -165 over Alan Patrick (12-0) I’m betting $100 to win $60.61

I’m a little leery about picking against an unbeaten fighter who is also an underdog but Taisumov is very, very good. In his last two fights, he’s looked completely dominant and Patrick is stepping into deep waters here. The Russian contingent has been very impressive of late in UFC and Taisumov will continue that run with a dominant win Saturday in Berlin.

Pick 5 – Scott Askham (12-1) -230 over Antonio dos Santos Jr (6-2) I’m betting $100 to win $43.48

Both guys are coming off losses in their UFC debuts. Askham’s was by decision, while Santos’ was a brutal 2nd round KO. Askham had the way better pedigree coming in and is fighting closer to home. I think Askham gets back on the winning track with a decisive win here.

All told, I’m betting $500 with a chance to win $556.64

On with the betting game.

2015 Betting Game: Secret Psychic Spy vs Ryan Frederick

Current Standings:

Ryan Frederick: $681.92 (Picked AlvarezOrtega, Noons, Browne, Magny, Matthews)

Secret Psychic Spy: $927.63 (Picked Henderson, Breese, Pyle, Wee, Andrews)

Once again both young Ryan and I picked winners last week and they were both underdogs. But mine was the bigger one and I’m out to a huge lead that is not in jeopardy this week, even if I’m wrong and he’s right, which won’t happen.

I’m playing it safe this week and going with Mr Finland for the reasons given above.

Freddy’s pick and analysis:

Nick Hein -165 over Lukasz Sajewski

There isn’t a lot I like on this card so I’m going with the German favorite Hein to beat Sajewski. Hein has good wrestling, and while he is coming off of a loss to James Vick, he should be motivated to put on a good performance in front of the German fans. Sajewski is undefeated, but he hasn’t fought in over a year, and he will be making his UFC debut. Hein may just be too much this time around.

Good luck, enjoy the fights and above all else remember, Freddy’s staying down!
