Batista Turns Down Big Match At WrestleMania

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that, according to Batista, he was asked to be Ronda Rousey’s partner against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. It’s not clear why he turned down the offer but it’s not the first invitation he turned down for this weekend. Several months ago, he noted that he turned down an offer to be inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class because he felt that his in-ring career is not over. Batista feels that he has more to offer and would like to wrestle a one-on-one match against Triple H at a WrestleMania. He has also expressed interest in wrestling at house shows.
It’s no secret WWE would have liked to team Rousey with The Rock, but movie studios are cautious about having the transcendent star wrestle again. Eventually, the WWE picked Raw General Manager Kurt Angle to team with Rousey.
