The shows opens up with Michael Cole welcoming us to tonight’s Mixed Match Challenge, which is the first quarterfinals match-up. He is joined by Corey Graves and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.
The team of Finn Balor and Sasha Banks make their way down to the ring as we see their promo from earlier in the week and the charity they’re representing. Asuka and The WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz make their way down to the ring next and we see the same for them. Asuka takes a shot at The Miz for losing last night while her winning streak is still alive.
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz & Asuka vs. Finn Balor & Sasha Banks: As the bell rings, The Miz grabs the mic and says when his hand goes up, their mouths go shut. The crowd helps with the catchphrase, which The Miz does not appreciate. Balor looks to capitalize off his win last night over The Miz and rolls him up for a two. Another pin attempt and near fall. The crowd chants for Asuka, but The Miz says that he’s got this. The Miz kicks Balor to his midsection that sends him down to one knee. After a brief back and forth, Asuka has had enough and tags herself in.

Asuka hops in and goes to town. Asuka hits some shoulder blocks and hip attacks on Banks. Asuka then goes for the “YES/IT Kicks” but Banks is able to turn the tables. Banks hits her trademark double knees in the corner and then wales away at Asuka. Banks applies a straight jacket hold as she crosses Asuka’s arms across her own throat to cut off air. Asuka is up and backs Banks into the corner for separation. Banks reverses and hits a combo of knees in different variations in the corner for a two count. Banks takes a peek at The Miz and hits a few kicks of her own. Asuka takes advantage of the gloating and pops Banks up for a vicious knee to the face.
The tag is made and the men are back in. Back and forth offense by both men. The Miz reverses a whip and gets a boot up. Balor is back up immediately and lands a clothesline type elbow for a two as Asuka breaks up the count. Banks then sends her outside and hits a double knees from the apron to the floor. The Miz and Balor are back in as The Miz lands the Skull Crushing Finale. Banks rushes in and breaks up the cover at 2 3/4. The Miz argues with the referee which allows Balor time to regain his composure and hit a sling-blade. Balor scales the ropes and hits the Coups de Grace, but Asuka breaks it up. Banks is back in and she applies the Banks Statement. Asuka reverses it into the Asuka Lock which makes Balor look back in panic. This allows The Miz to reverse and roll up Balor for the surprise win. Winners: WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz & Asuka
After the match, it is announced that next week we will see the team of Braun Strowman & Alexa Bliss take on The husband/wife duo of Jimmy Uso and Naomi. We then get a peek at their trash talk as they look forward to their match next Tuesday. We head off the air with a jubilant Miz and Asuka celebrating on the ramp.
