First SmackDown-Brand PPV To Go Down Without One Of Its' Top Superstars

It looks like the first SmackDown-brand pay-per-view, WWE Backlash, will go down without one of its’ top Superstars.

As seen on last night’s SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon announced the first brand-exclusive pay-per-view, Backlash, for September 11th in Richmond, Virginia.

John Cena will be working a non-televised live event in Shanghai, China the night before the Backlash pay-per-view, and is expected to miss the first brand-exclusive PPV. He is not included in the official advertising for the event.
