Bianca Belair is headed to WrestleMania 37 as a title challenger after winning the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match.
Belair won tonight’s women’s Royal Rumble match by last eliminating Rhea Ripley. The final four in the match were Belair, Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Natalya.
Belair entered the women’s Royal Rumble match at number three. It was noted that she was in the match for 56 minutes and 49 seconds, which is the new women’s Royal Rumble record.
After the women’s Royal Rumble match, Belair was interviewed in the ring. Belair said she’s been telling everyone she’s the strongest, fastest, roughest, toughest, quickest, greatest, and the best — but tonight she showed everyone. An emotional Belair mentioned her mother, father, and husband (Montez Ford) and said she’s going to put the EST in WrestleMania.
Belair is a member of the SmackDown roster. SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks retained her title against Carmella earlier tonight at the Royal Rumble.
Which title Belair will be challenging for at WrestleMania hasn’t been announced. In an interview with the Sporting News earlier this month, Belair spoke about what it would mean if she were to headline a night of WrestleMania against Banks:
Everything I have approached in WWE I do it looking for a purpose. When I think about a dream match, Sasha Banks would definitely be at the top of my list. And to think about headlining WrestleMania with Sasha Banks, that would be more than just a match. It’s more than having a great match with an effort to tear the house down. Nah, that’s top-level representation that will go down in the history books for multiple reasons. It gives me goosebumps. That would be a dream come true not just for me, but for many people. That would be a very special night, and I can’t even explain what it would mean to me.
WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
