NJPW to Air ‘Fighting Spirit Unleashed’ Live from Hammerstein Ballroom

With the Destruction tour now behind them, New Japan Pro-Wrestling turns their focus to the upcoming Fighting Spirit Unleashed tour, set to take over three of the most famous wrestling venues in the U.S. this upcoming weekend.

The promotion has announced that the September 28 event at the historic Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, New York will be broadcast live on their NJPW World streaming service. The show is completely sold out, so if you don’t have a ticket this is your only option to watch it live.

Interestingly enough, at this point New Japan is only promotion Japanese commentary for the live version of the show, which kicks off at 7PM ET.

While not confirmed, it is likely that Kevin Kelly and possibly others will be in studio doing English commentary for all three stops of the tour, including the Lowell Auditorium on Sep. 27 and the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Sep. 29., which will be uploaded to NJPW World at a later date, similar to the recent Super J-Cup tour in the U.S.

Matches for the tour are expected to be announced within the next 48 hours. Right now the announced stars being promoted are IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, Tetsuya Naito, EVIL, SANADA, BUSHI, Shingo Takagi, IWGP Intercontinental Champion Jay White, IWGP Tag Team Champions the Guerrillas of Destiny, the NEVER Openeweight Champion KENTA, as well as the legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Express.
