Metlife Stadium previously played host to WrestleMania on April 7, 2013, an event which featured The Undertaker vs CM Punk, Triple H vs Brock Lesnar, and was headlined by The Rock vs John Cena.

Following this year’s WWE Royal Rumble, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney spoke with ABC 6 following this past weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble events at the Wells Fargo Center, and made it very clear he wanted the City of Brotherly Love to host a future WrestleMania.

“We hope you’ll keep coming back to Philadelphia for many more shows in the years to come,” said Kenney. “I’d love to host WrestleMania. I’d love to host WrestleMania. Really would love to host WrestleMania.”
