Kairi Sane made her return to NXT at tonight’s television taping event in Atlanta, getting a small measure of revenge against the woman who injured her (in story), former MMA trailblazer Shayna Baszler.

Sane made a surprise appearance saving NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon as the “Queen of Spades” continued to further damage the arm she nearly broke at Takeover: Philadelphia last weekend. Her interference ultimately cost Shayna the title, although she did technically win the bout over Moon by disqualification.

Baszler made her NXT television debut back in December by attacking and brutally assaulting Kairi Sane, the woman who beat her in the finals of last year’s Mae Young Classic tournament. The incident would put the beloved Japanese star on the shelf for over a month, and it will be even longer than that by the time she returns on February 14th.
