AS Monaco in advanced talks to sign Gabriel Pereira (Grêmio)

RMC report this evening that AS Monaco are engaged in advanced negotiations with Brazilian side Grêmio to sign 18-year-old goalkeeper Gabriel Pereira.

AS Monaco VP Oleg Petrov and Massimiliano Notari, the club’s lead specialist for Brazil, recently travelled to South America to meet with Romild Bolzan, the Grêmio president, and Carlos Amadeo, the club’s general manager.

Both clubs made concrete progress in negotiations for Pereira, who is currently in Monaco at the time of writing with his father. The teenager has an Italian passport and would therefore not count towards a non-EU slot in the Principality side’s squad.

During this meeting, the possibility of the transfer of another Grêmio player, Jean Pyerre, a 21-year-old midfielder, was also discussed. However, talks in relation to this player are less advanced than the Pereira deal.
