Did Lio Rush Help Bobby Lashley Turn Heel on WWE Raw? (Video)

It would seem that Bobby Lashley has developed a new mean streak, as the former ECW World Champion took out his aggressions on Kevin Owens in a brutal, seemingly endless assault this Monday night on WWE Raw.

Just two days ago Lashley was all smiles, teaming with the eternally happy John Cena in front of 70,000 screaming Australian fans at WWE Super Show-Down. It’s unclear what prompted the Destroyer’s seemingly spontanious path of destruction, but it may have something to do with his new manager Lio Rush.

While Rush typically portrays a more heelish character on the WWE 205 Live brand, he was brought to the main roster last month with a more positive, inspiring outlook. He spent the last few weeks motivating Lashley to victories, while out-smarting and out-maneuvering their opponents in ways that were finally starting to get the WWE Universe on Bobby’s side.

It was a bit odd to see the so-called Man of the Hour playing two different roles one day to the next, but this week on Raw he was instead portrayed as a much more obnoxious character, mocking the crowd throughout Lashley’s match against Owens, wielding a live microphone during the entire bout. After the match, Lashley returned to the ring at the request of his new manager and further continued to beat down K.O., basking in the boos of the Chicago crowd.
