It was reported yesterday that the upcoming WWE Backlash pay-per-view after WrestleMania has been changed from a Raw-exclusive show to a show that will now feature talent from Raw and Smackdown. Last year saw the “Superstar Shakeup” take place not long after WrestleMania. This saw several members of Raw and Smackdown get traded back and fourth over the course of a week. According to WrestleZone, that concept will be returning after WrestleMania once again, but it will be happening during the Backlash pay-per-view. Backlash does not take place until May 6th, so the stars of Raw and Smackdown will probably be staying exactly where they are until then.
The draft show taking place on the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view will reportedly allow WWE to reintroduce the concept of dual-branded pay-per-views. Right now, the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series are the only shows to feature both brands, but all pay-per-views will reportedly be dual-branded after WrestleMania. The Wrestling Observer Radio has now confirmed that an official announcement from WWE on the matter is forthcoming. The reported reason for the change back to dual-branded pay-per-views has been attributed to “so-so ticket sales” and “repetitive matches” at the events. Despite the pay-per-view changes, it is believed that the brand split will still remain for the weekly Raw and Smackdown shows.
It’s no secret that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has had numerous affairs with several ladies. He even documented his most famous stories during his 30 for 30 ESPN special last year. Flair recently posted a strange item for sale online. It was a contract promising a ride on Space Mountain (which Flair has used as a metaphor for sex throughout his career.) He later removed the listing of the item and then promptly scrubbed away all mentions of it from his social media pages. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin, WWE officials asked Flair to take it down. Despite this, several screenshots of the “WOOOOO Compromise” were taken before Ric Flair was able to erase it.
Ric Flair has removed the advertisement for autographed sexual consent forms from his Twitter page.
I’m told by sources that he meant well, but was asked by people within WWE to take it down. Still available for purchase at his web store though. pic.twitter.com/LsXOgZwZ6k
