Former WWE Star Shares Story of Surviving Addiction with Kids

Former WWE Superstar Marc Mero was once on top of the world, defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin and being an Intercontinental Champion, but these days who tours the country to deliver a positive message to kids about choosing to stay away from drugs. 
Mero’s story includes a memory of contemplating suicide. He said he had just his father, mother and brother, and his wife had divorced him. He spent a Christmas Day under a pier in Cocoa Beach, Fla, wondering if he should end his misery. 

Mero also speaks about his drug addiction. He said he nearly died of a drug overdose three times and was selling drugs at one point. He took control of his life at age 43 and for 15 years, he’s been clean. 
Now he tours the country through his “Think Poz” campaign, going to schools and speaking to students about overdosing and how bad choices can affect a young person’s life.
