“I got a text, it was on a Sunday morning, early January,” Jarrett said. “It said, ‘Can you talk for about five minutes?’ I said sure to this high ranking WWE official who will remain nameless at this time. I don’t know if I’m supposed to discuss this guy’s name.”
Jarrett continued, “To say I was shocked would be an understatement. All in about 60 seconds it was wrestling maybe at it’s best. I was shocked, I was grateful, very humbled, I was scratching my head. It was surreal. It was really a surreal moment. It’s no secret in 2017 I had some ups, I probably had more downs than I had ups, both personally and professionally, so early January 2018 to get that call it was a shock. I’m still sort of mesmerized by the whole deal.”
