Former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs was the special guest on the most recent edition of Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast, and you can listen to the entire show at this link.

During the interview, Jimmy Jacobs revealed he entered rehab following WrestleMania 33, to treat an opiate addiction.

Several months ago, PWInsider.com reported that Jacobs had taken time off WWE for personal reasons, and him taking time off might have “put a target on his back” in the company. It has now been revealed the reason for his leave of absence was to enter a rehabilitation facility.

During the Jericho interview Jacobs admitted that when he returned to WWE following rehab, he didn’t care too much about the company or his job. Jericho asked Jacobs if he was intentionally trying to get fired when he posted the photo of himself with Bullet Club during the group’s September “Raw invasion”, and Jacobs said he was not trying to get fired. He added, however, that he wasn’t not trying to get fired either.

As noted, Jimmy Jacobs has most recently returned to the independent scene, and also worked as a backstage agent for Impact Wrestling.
