Jinder Mahal undergoes surgery to fix knee issues

Jinder Mahal is back out of action after undergoing another surgery.

On his Instagram account today, Mahal announced that he underwent surgery to fix some knee issues. “Unfortunately I had to go under the knife again to fix some knee issues,” Mahal wrote. “The journey has hit a speed bump, but I will be back stronger than ever.”

Mahal didn’t reveal what the injury is or how long he’ll be out of action. The location for his instagram post was Birmingham, Alabama, which is where the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center is located.

Mahal underwent knee surgery in June 2019 to repair a ruptured patellar tendon. He returned to action on the April 27 episode of Raw, quickly defeating Akira Tozawa.

A promo by Mahal aired on the May 11 episode of Raw. Mahal said he’s elated that his old friend Drew McIntyre is WWE Champion. Mahal said he deserves to be loved, celebrated, and respected by the fans like McIntyre is. Mahal mentioned that he’s made mistakes in the past, but he’s on a new path and will redeem himself. Mahal declared that his journey back to the top will be a hero’s journey.

Mahal also had two matches on Main Event after returning, defeating Denzel Dejournette and Tozawa.
