Polish defender Kamil Glik signed a new contract until 2021 and joined Monaco from Torino last summer for a reported fee of €11m plus €4m in bonuses. The tough-tackling centre-back was a mainstay in Leonardo Jardim’s side, playing 50 times in all completions, helping them to their first league title in 17 years.
The Pole also netted 6 times for the champions, more than any other defender in Ligue 1. His impressive exploits have helped earn him a new contract which ties him down to the Principality side until 2021.
Glik seemed delighted with his new deal as he went on to say, “This season, the objectives are the same. To go as far as possible in the Champions League. We’ll be going out to defend our French league title and keep winning!”
“We are delighted to extend Kamil’s contract. He only arrived last year, but soon showed all his qualities. We are confident he still has much more to bring to the team,” said Monaco Vice President, Vadim Vasilyev.
