Keith Lee returned to the ring on tonight’s post-Money in the Bank episode of Raw, wrestling for the first time since February.

Lee made his surprise return to WWE television by answering WWE Champion Bobby Lashley’s open challenge tonight. After getting a convincing win against Lee, Lashley was confronted by the returning Goldberg following the match.

At this February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Lee was supposed to face Lashley and Riddle in a triple threat match for the United States Championship. But Lee was pulled from the match before it took place. In storyline, the explanation for Lee not being in the match was injuries that he suffered when he was attacked by Lashley on Raw earlier that month.

Last month, Lee tweeted about his absence from WWE TV: “I wanted to do something educational, but also inspiring to tell you guys about everything since late January. Seems that is off the table for now. So….with that, I will find another way to tell guys about everything. It might simply a video of me chatting with you. We’ll see.”

SmackDown wrestler Mia Yim, who is engaged to Lee, tweeted tonight: “You guys… this is huge. Tears of joy. So happy and proud. Nothing keeps him down. #BaskInMyGlory @RealKeithLee #WWERAW”

Tonight’s Raw took place in Lee’s home state of Texas.
