Lens have released a statement this afternoon in which they “strongly discourage” their fans from travelling to Marseille for their fixture against OM this Sunday.

The club has indicated that the conditions under which away fans are allowed to travel do not have an “absolute guarantee of security“, and as a result have called on the travelling support’s “sense of responsibility” to not attend the game.

The announcement comes in the wake of crowd trouble incidents involving both Lens fans – in the derby against LIlle – and Marseille supporters, who invaded the pitch at Angers last night.
