Lille’s Domagoj Bradarić close to move to Salernitana

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Lille left-back Domagoj Bradarić (22) is close to signing for Serie A side Salernitana, who maintained their status in the top division in Italy with a 17th place finish last season.

Last week, Salernitana sporting director Morgan de Sanctis expressed his strong interest in the player, who joined Lille from Hadjuk Split in 2019 for €6.5m. He now looks set to switch Lille for Italy.

Since signing for Les Dogues, Bradarić has made 76 appearances, but last season only managed 16 appearances in all competitions. Signed by Luis Campos and having made four appearances for the Croatian national side, has seen his game time diminish at Lille.

During the club’s title-winning season, he made 26 appearances, scored once and registered two assists. Lille have had a busy transfer window thus far. Sven Botman (22), Zeki Celik (25), Burak Yilmaz (36), Xeka (27) and Hatem Ben Arfa (35) have all left the side, although only Botman and Celik garnered a fee.

Bradarić now looks set to be the next name out of the door, as Paulo Fonseca looks to develop a side in his image. Rémy Cabella (32) and Mohamed  Bayo (24) both look set to join the side.
