According to L’Équipe, Lyon midfielder Florent Sanchez Da Silva (19) is set to be loaned out to Eredivisie side Volendam until the end of the season, with no option to buy the player. This follows last year’s loan move to National 1 side Villefranche, with no appearances for the 19-year old so far this season for Lyon – the player’s contract with Les Gones currently runs until 2025.
Volendam are currently bottom of the Eredivisie after being promoted to the Dutch first tier last season for the first time in 13 years. Da Silva has played six matches in Lyon’s second side this season who play in the fourth tier of French football, but made 15 appearances and created seven assists in France’s third tier with FC Villefranche, who now currently sit 13th in Championnat National table.
Whilst Da Silva has not made a single appearance for Lyon this season, it looks as if no game time would be guaranteed under Laurent Blanc – as the club decide it would be better for the young player to get game time in the dutch top division.
