Tomorrow at lunchtime France manager Didier Deschamps will announce his latest squad for forthcoming friendly matches against Armenia (8th October) and Denmark (11th October).
There are unlikely to be many surprises, according to our colleagues atRMC.
The goalkeeping lineup will be the familiar trident of Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda and Stéphane Ruffier.
In defence, there is likelyto be just one change from the previous squad, with Laurent Koscielny expected to be ruled out with hamstring problem. As a result, Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho will be given a chance despite a lack of playing time at the Merseyside outfit this season.
Kurt Zouma, Raphael Varane and Eliaquim Mangala make up the rest of the central defenders. At left-back, Patrice Evra will keep his place, but there are questions surrounding whether or not Lucas Digne of AS Roma has done enough to potentially dislodge Sevilla’s Benoit Tremoulinas from that second spot.
It is something that Deschamps and his team have been mulling over this week. At right-back, Bacary Sagna and Mathieu Debuchy will receive the nods. The Arsenal man’s lack of minutes for the London club have not put him in enough danger of being left out yet, despite Lyon’s Christophe Jallet playing very well since coming in for the injured Raphael.
In midfield, Yohan Cabaye, Moussa Sissoko, Blaise Matuidi, Morgan Schneiderlin, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Paul Pogba, are all seemingly, barring last minute injuries, dead certs.

Going forward, Didier Deschamps must replace Nabil Fékir, and he is expected to do so with the surprising choice of Rennes winger Paul Georges Step instead of the listless Alexandre Lacazette. Olivier Giroud despite staunch criticism, will be in the squad alongside Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann. Mathieu Valbuena will also be there, with Deschamps reportedly unhappy with West Ham United’s attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet for his outburst against him in French media recently.
Manchester United fans will be pleased to know that Anthony Martial will receive his second call up after a brilliant start to life in the Premier League.
