OGC Nice have flatly rejected overtures from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund to prise away manager Lucien Favre, according to L’Équipe.
If BVB had come to Les Aiglons earlier, then the 59-year-old might have had an opportunity to replace Tuchel, but Nice’s reasoning is that three weeks out from the start of pre-season, it does not give them enough time to prepare and find a new manager if they were to accept the Swiss’ departure.

Favre in the meantime had agreed personal terms with BVB, according to German outlets like Kicker and BILD.
That seems to be the close of the chapter for now and the strongest indication yet that Les Aiglons will be able to hold on to Favre.
