Whilst it seemed to be set in stone that Brock Lesnar would face Daniel Cormier on his UFC return, it appears that the fight could now be in jeopardy.
The Beast returned to the Octagon earlier this year to face off with Cormier after his fight to promote what was expected to be Lesnar’s return fight to the company.
It has been known for a while now that Lesnar will be going back to UFC in 2019 and Cormier, who happens to be a major WWE fan, was expected to be his opponent.
However, after an interview with TMZ, UFC owner Dana White has cast some doubt over whether that match will ever happen in the UFC as he admitted that Cormier’s team wants him to retire now, rather than in March next year which was his plan.
White is hoping to arrange a fight for Cormier against Jon Jones prior to any possible Brock Lesnar match, but if Cormier’s team have anything to do with it that won’t be happening either.

It is interesting to note that whilst Lesnar is preparing for a return to MMA, Cormier is actually gearing up for a possible run with WWE as he revealed earlier this year he is set for a commentary tryout, with speculation stating he could be set to join the SmackDown Live announce team as part of the FOX deal in order to give the show a more sports-like feel.
