Social media platforms have given teeth to freedom of expression as it doesn’t deploy censorship. However, this freedom is being exploited by some unruly people who are harassing others through personal or public messages on social media.

Multinational corporation Tata Consultancy Services which has also been featured at the 35th spot among the 12 best Indian companies on Forbes’ list of around 250 firms fired an employee in Kolkata.

The employee was relieved after a thread of hate messages containing expletive content sent by the employee to two women went viral on the digital medium. A Kolkata based employee of the company, Rahul Singh sent these messages to a 19-year-old woman from Assam who then filed a police complaint against him.
