Friday’s midday press briefing was mercifully short.

The Commission wasn’t able to confirm who will represent it at an emergency meeting Friday afternoon between Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos. They are trying to unblock negotiations on Greece’s €86 billion bailout program.

Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis is in London, so he won’t be dealing with Greece. Dombrovskis is speaking on the topic of “Accelerating the Capital Markets Union” at 1:45 p.m. Brussels time. The event will be live-streamed here.

Once the cameras were turned off a Commission official hinted that it wouldn’t be Pierre Moscovici either. Bjarke Smith-Meyer is watching for POLITICO Pro subscribers.

The Commission’s deputy spokesperson, Alexander Winterstein, said some Commission buildings were affected by Thursday night’s power shut-down in Brussels, but said there were no internal security incidents as a result.

Coming up on Monday

Moscovici will present the Commission’s winter economic forecast. Jean-Claude Juncker will meet the Austrian president and chancellor, Alexander Van der Bellen and Christian Kern.
