Christophe Galtier: “Hugo Ekitiké will have lots more game time.”

Speaking ahead of PSG’s match against Lyon on Sunday, manager Christophe Galtier said that summer signing Hugo Ekitiké (20) is set to earn more game-time.

Ekitiké joined the reigning French champions on loan from Ligue 1 rivals Stade de Reims in a deal that includes a purchase option. However, the French youth international has only managed 67 minutes of football so far this season, appearing only from the bench in 5 separate matches.

However, Galtier said that he is set for more game time after a period of adaptation. In a press conference, transcribed by L’Équipe, Galtier said, “Hugo is a player with incredible potential. He is discovering the highest level. He has needed some sessions to find the right level and to create a connection with the attacking unit. He is progressing enormously and is very good in training.”

Galtier continued, “He is dying to get going. The good times will come very quickly, and he will have lots more game time very soon.”
