RMC Sport have provided an update on the contract situations of PSG’s U19s cohort.
Generation 2021:
Yanis Saidani (goalkeeper) – youth contract comes to an end in 2021
In the weeks before the COVID-19 footballing disruptions began, Saidani was a regular in 1st team training with Les Parisiens. The PSG board are happy with how the goalkeeper is progressing and the left-footer is expected to regularly be part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad next season. The board are considering offering a professional contract to Saidani, but appear set to hold off until summer when they can get a better sense of the futures of Marcin Bulka and Garisonne Innocent, who could be loaned out.
Richard Makutungu (midfielder) – youth contract comes to an end in 2021
The club has not yet made a decision on whether or not to offer him a professional contract. The club would like to reposition the Belgian as a right-back next season. Two options are possible: a professional contract signing, followed by a loan. Or a departure this summer, for an indemnity of around €500k.
Massinissa Oufella (midfielder) – professional contract comes to an end in 2021, with an option to extend until 2022
PSG want to continue the adventure with Oufella, after being seriously injured last season. PSG are hoping to loan him out in summer.
Maxen Kapo (midfielder) – professional contract comes to an end in 2022
The midfielder is coming out of a season in which he was the most used player at the U19 level. However, he has not been able to make that step up to having a chance with the 1st team. PSG are not against a sale, but would prefer to loan him out, as they continue to value him highly.
Bandiougou Fadiga (midfielder) – professional contract comes to an end in 2022
Injured for the entire season, Fadiga has not been able to continue to progress to the same extent that he did under the orders of Thiago Motta last season. A loan was discussed last January, but never happened, and a permanent departure is looking increasingly likely.
Hussayn Touati (attacking midfielder) – youth contract comes to an end in 2021
In a similar vein to the situation for Makutungu, a positional change is in the works for Touatif. The coaching team feels that he could have a future at left-back. And in this spirit, PSG are looking to loan him out. However, if a considerable offer is made on a permanent basis, the club will not hold on to him.
Alexandre Fressange (attacker) – professional contract comes to an end in 2021
Fressange is attracting considerable interest from England, and after appearing in the Singapore pre-season tour in 2018 with the 1st team, Fressange has been frozen out by Thomas Tuchel. A departure appears imminent.
Generation 2002:
Denis Franchi (goalkeeper) – youth contract comes to an end in 2022
The starting shot-stopper for the U19s, Franchi was recently camped in a hotel opposite the Camp des Loges when the COVID-19 pandemic first broke, PSG have since helped him to repatriate to his native Italy to be with family. With another two years left on his current deal, Franchi will remain with the U19s as a starter next season.
Théo Chanu – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
The U19s’ third choice goalkeeper this season did not receive a single competitive minute, stuck in the pecking order behind Franchi and Saidani. But Chanu has played a few games for the PSG veterans side.
This has been somewhat of a disappointing turn of events for a player who had an offer to move to Montpellier last summer turned down by PSG, only for the capital club now to decide not to offer him a new contract. Chanu is trilingual, speaking French, Spanish and English, and has strong interest from a Belgian club.
Timothée Pembélé (defender) – professional contract comes to an end in 2021
Spending his formative years as a central defender, Pembélé spent this season playing at left-back for France in the U18 World Cup and as a right-back with PSG. He is considered by his coaches as one of the most promising talents of this generation. To such an extent, that Les Parisiens have tried in recent months to get him to sign an extension.
It is difficult to imagine him not wanting to be part of the PSG first team next campaign, which he began to do in January this season.
Jonathan Mutombo (Defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
The right-back, who has been at the club since 2014, is one of the few players left to formally meet with the board. He has played just twice this season.
Nathan Bitumazala (Defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Despite some nice performances in the division, the Youth League and the U23 Premier League, the board has decided not to offer the player a professional deal. Bitumazala wanted to stay at PSG, but his advisors are looking for a new project.
Teddy Alloh (defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
A meeting between PSG and the player’s advisors has occurred, but no decision has been made on his future.
Gaylord Kitenge (defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
PSG have decided not to extend this player’s contract despite playing 12 out of the 19 games that the U19s have so far had this season.
Ziyad Larkèche (defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Larkèche has been with Les Parisiens for nine years, but is preparing to leave the club at the end of this season. The left-back had managed to carve out a place for himself in Stéphane Roche’s starting XI in recent weeks, after spending last season on the bench. Several Italian clubs made enquiries last January.
Thierno Baldé (defender) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
A starter in defence, Baldé is one of the lucky members of his generation to have the opportunity to stay at PSG beyond next season. A contract has been offered to the player, but it is unclear whether that is a youth or professional deal. Then Baldé will have to decide whether to stick or twist.
Kays Ruiz-Atil (midfielder) – professional contract comes to an end in 2021
After having wanted to extend the contract of the midfielder, PSG are resigned to letting Ruiz-Atil go if a satisfactory proposal is made. This winter, Chelsea approached his entourage. Lines of communication with the English side remain open, but conversations are not as intense as they once were.
Ruiz-Atil would like to be training with the 1st team next season if he is to stay at PSG. The board does not feel that the player is ready for that at this stage. Once in talks with his entourage, Dortmund and Marseille recently pulled out of conversations.
Anfane Ahamada M’Ze (midfielder) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Despite interest from multiple clubs from abroad, M’Ze is set to sign a first professional contract with PSG, lasting for three seasons, before undergoing an operation on a painful knee.
Tidjany Touré Chabrol (midfielder) – professional contract comes to an end in 2021
He was one of the most utilised players at U17 level, but his playing time has dropped since he has been a part of the U19s. The midfielder was one of the first of his generation to sign a professional deal, but now PSG won’t stand in his way if he wants to depart. The youngster is hoping to get more playing time should the competition start again post the COVID-19 interruption.
Hervé Malebe (midfielder) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Struggling with a back problem this season, Malebe has endured limited game time, playing just three times in league action for the U19s. PSG have decided not to offer him a professional deal, but he has interest from Spain, England and elsewhere in France. Once quarantine is finished, Malebe is expected to be allowed to go on trial with numerous clubs.
Ayoub Yousfi (midfielder) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Having arrived last year from Cergy-Pontoise after a trial with Thiago Motta’s group, Yousfi has been a good surprise this season for the U19s. He was a hair away from signing for Angers before PSG offered him a three year professional contract. Despite interest from Spain, the attacking midfielder is set to sign a new deal with PSG.
Isaac Karamoko (attacker) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Like many of his team-mates, Karamoko will not be continuing with PSG next season. But the attacker and his entourage were aware that this would be the case. Several trials are planned for the teenager, whilst in France, Troyes and Sochaux are very interested.
Kenny Nagera (attacker) – youth contract comes to an end in 2020
Injured at the beginning of this season, Nagera quickly became the club’s top goalscorer for the U19s this season. Nagera has now received a 3-year professional contract offer from Les Parisiens, and must take a decision. Like many team-mates, the Parisian has interest from other French clubs and a host of English sides. A response is expecting in the coming days.
