Antoine Kombouaré: “The game lasted 7 minutes.”

FC Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré bemoaned his side’s lackluster performance against AS Monaco on Sunday, as his side conceded twice within the opening six minutes.

Breel Embolo opened the scoring inside the opening two minutes before Wissam Ben Yedder doubled the scores just four minutes later. By half-time, his side were 3-0 down. Ben Yedder completed his hat-trick from the spot in the second half, before a Caio Henrique own-goal late on.

“We were never in the match,” bemoaned Kombouaré. “You can concede a goal in the opening minutes, but what I didn’t understand was that there wasn’t a reaction. What’s worse is that we concede the second in the sixth minute which sinks us. The match lasted seven minutes.”

The Nantes manager added that his side “made it easy” for AS Monaco, who have now won four on the bounce in Ligue 1. Nantes, meanwhile, are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference, and they haven’t won any of their last five league fixtures.
