The Malta FA have published a statement on Sunday confirming that “informal approaches” have been made in recent days by various actors over the possibility of playing the 2nd leg of the Champions’ League Round of 16 clash between Juventus and Lyon, currently scheduled for 17th March, to occur in Malta.

“Informal contact was made… but in any case, the hypothesis of Italian fans coming to Malta is impossible and the directives from the Maltese health authorities must be respected.”
